In this tutorial, we will be discussing about configuring some important GRUB2 Boot Loader’s settings in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS desktop. I tested this guide in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS desktop, however these instructions might work on all Linux operating systems that uses GRUB2 boot loader. Download – Free eGuide. Startup-manager configures some settings for grub, usplash and splash screens. It provides an easy to use interface. It is originally a ubuntu project, adapted for debian.

StartUp-Manager is a program to configure GRUB, GRUB2, Usplash and Splashy. It was originally an Ubuntu project, but was later adapted to Debian. StartUp-Manager is not compatible with Ubuntu versions after 11.10.[1]GRUB Customizer is an option for later versions.

Development stopped on 6 May 2011 after the lead developer cited personal reasons for not actively developing the program. The developer is willing to let other people take over the project.[2]

This is a bad thing I did....At one time I had a partial download of Ubuntu.
Since then I have a dual boot of winxp and Ubuntu. I just upgraded my
system to Ubuntu 9.10 still dual booting with Windows. However, when I
boot my options still showed the 9.04 along with 9.10 and winxp.

Rufus

So I went into Startup Manager and foolishly went to the advanced tab
and selected 'Restore Original Settings' (shouldn't have done that).
Now there's no indication in Startup Manager OR when I boot that Ubuntu 9.10
exists on the computer, however 9.10 actually does exist and boots up using
one of the 9.04 Options.
ManagerAnyway to change this, or leave well enough alone???
Hope I made that clear...everything works but on boot up there's winxp and two
versions of 9.04 (one of which is actually 9.10)
